TOPIC: UNDERSTANDING FAVOUR – THE BELIEVER’S ADVANTAGE (PART 3)
Scripture: Genesis 39: 21. But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.
Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter. In continuation of our understanding of favour the believer’s advantage, we established that favour is a grace that is given by God!
It can be merited as well as unmerited. We went further to answer the question why God gives favour. And today, we shall continue to answer the question why God gives favour.
Why God is giving His children favour?
1. It is the technology of time redemption. The tool of restoration of wasted years. (For details of this check yesterday meditation)
2. Life is stagnated without favour: The second reason why God gives His children favour is because; Progress in life is at the mercy of favour!
No matter how gifted a man is in life, his progress can be arrested without favour! He can be skillful yet begging to survive. I have seen a man with several certificates yet none could fetch him a job because his life is void of favour.
When life is void of favour, stagnation is inevitable! But when life is full of favour, progress is certain. You are where you are today either by favour or disfavour! While favour makes for progress, disfavour males for stagnation.
A good example of this truth is Joseph! He was a man that was bedeviled with all sorts of challenges, yet he kept on moving in the face of challenges.
In Gen.37:20-24) the brothers of Joseph conspired to kill him but favour forbade him from being killed!
I don’t know who is plotting your death right now, I’m glad to announce to you, by the favour of God you will escape every programmed death this year in the name of Jesus.
The next thing was, they threw Joseph into the pit(Gen.37:24) but favour forbade him from remaining in the pit!
You can not carry favour and remain in the pit! So, I don’t know what kind of position you are in currently that looks like a pit!
Inside the pit there is darkness, there’s no breath of fresh air and you may even be thinking this is your end! I’m glad to announce to you today, you are coming out of that pit!
That pit they kept you is not your place in destiny. For the Bible said:
Zechariah 9: 11. As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.
The next thing, they sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites(Gen.37:28). And then the Ishmeelites sold Joseph as a slave to Egypt and he was bought by Mr Potiphar from the Ishmelites(Gen.37:36).
While in Potiphar’s house favour spoke for him again there(Gen.39:1-6 ). I want to let you know that favour has a voice! And i declare favour shall speak for you today in the name of Jesus. By favour he was promoted to the position of Managing Director in charge of Portiphar’s estate.
Beloved, I don’t know the level you are right now, but I’m glad to announce to you, by the force of favour, your promotion is coming.
The next thing;, Joseph was later taken to prison on the account of false allegation, God still gave him favour even in prison, such that he became the man in charge of prison.
The preferred candidate before the prison officials:
Genesis 39: 21. But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.
Joseph was later recommended to the palace of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, by the force of favour. He became the first stranger to occupy the position of a prime minister in the land of Egypt(Gen.41:41-44).
Beloved, you could see progress in the life of Joseph! There was no way Joseph could be stagnated all the way because the favour of God was upon him.
Even in circumstances that were planned to mess up his destiny, he kept on moving forward!
This is why I’m confident to tell you that, by the force of favour, your life is excused from stagnation this season.
Remember this: Heaven is real and hell is real. Don’t gamble with your eternal destiny. Settle it now by surrendering and living your life for Jesus.
Prayer points:
– Father thank you for your word to me today.
– Lord, I open up my heart to Joseph order of favour in the name of Jesus.
Prophetic Declaration;
– I declare, your season for a lifting has come! Make progress in the name of Jesus.
– By, the force of favour, I decree every obstacles on your way to victory clear off today in the name of Jesus.
Assignment : Determine to look beyond your present condition and look up unto God for your favour.
