DAY 29 (Friday 29th September, 2023)
Text: Matthew 13:24-28
Theme: WATCH AND PRAY
Memory Verse: “He said unto them, An enemy hath done this.” (Matthew 13:28)
t is always laughable when some people claim that they don’t have enemies. Little do they know that the devil is the enemy of man who hates man with perfect hatred. He is always on the prowl seeking for whom he may devour. As a result of this, God, by His word, is warning every believer in Christ against complacency. This is not the time to relax and feel that the enemy is no longer fighting. His battles have always remained as ferocious as ever.
Now, we have almost gotten to the end of the month and naturally, many people will feel excited. However, the danger of such excitement is that it might provide an opportunity for the enemy to strike. The enemy knows this and sees it as an opportunity to come in and pounce on them. This is something we must not allow. Our text for today, talks about the man that sowed good seeds in the ground and went home. Unknown to him, while it was yet night, his enemy went there and sowed tares. When his servants came to harvest, they discovered that the good seeds they sowed also had tares growing with them. Of course, this would make it extremely difficult to have a good harvest. When the man of the house was informed about this latest development, he thought for a while and declared, “An enemy hath done this.”
This brings to light the antecedents of the enemy especially whenever we are not watching. He capitalizes on such negligence and complacency to cause havoc. Jesus Christ, knowing this, admonished His disciples to watch and pray because no one knows when the enemy would swoop in to attack. At times like this, the enemy increases his attacks. To this end, this is not a time of complacency when a believer in Christ will be lax. We need to increase the volume of our prayer to avoid any unexpected attack. So, you must watch and pray. Be aware of everything that is going on around you. You must put on the whole armour of God to be able to withstand the fiery darts of the devil.
Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:
1.Any end of the month attack targeted against me, be averted, in Jesus name.
2.Any evil conjured up against me in the spirit realm, be disbanded by fire, in Jesus name.
3.Any end of the month arrow flying for my sake, return back to your sender, in Jesus name.
4.Any evil ambush waiting for our G. O, Mommy in the Lord and their children to come out so that it can happen, be dismantled by the Holy Ghost fire, in Jesus name
.
5.Every program of war and destruction targeted against our nation and its people, backfire, in Jesus name.
