Unilorin Convocation: Iwo-indigene’s Record-Breaking First-Class Graduate Lands Full PhD Scholarship
One outstanding figure among 450 students who bagged first-class honours degrees at the 37th and 38th convocation ceremonies of the University of Ilorin on Friday, October 20, 2023 was Alamu Azeez Adebayo, an Iwo indigene.
His academic journey at Unilorin would make history, as he became the first graduate in the university’s 47-year existence to achieve a First Class degree in the Department of Political Science.
Recalled that in December 2022, we posted that an Iwo Indigene broke a 40-Year Record by graduating with a First Class at UNILORIN.
Alamu Azeez Adebayo hails from Lakata Compund (Ile Lakata), Iwo, Osun State. Alamu Azeez graduated with an impressive 4.58 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).
The significance of his accomplishment did not go unnoticed, as Distinguished Professor Toyin Falola, a revered figure in academia, bestowed a full-scale scholarship to a PhD program upon Alamu Azeez Adebayo, popularly known as ‘Mr. Nigeria.’
