TOPIC: BLESSING AND CURSES
⚓SCRIPTURE : _Deuteronomy 30: 19: I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing : therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:_
Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! While considering the blessing it is necessary for us to consider the other side of the coin which is curses.
It is interesting for us to understand that blessing and curses are both supervise by God’s integrity! So the idea of blessing(Gen.1:28) and curse(Gen.3:14-17) was first mentioned by God!
In Genesis 4: 11. And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother’s blood from thy hand;
So, therefore it is possible to receive blessing or a curse from God depending on what your life is activating. Blessings are activated based on the life style of the individual.
The first man Adam received the blessing and his son Cain harvested a curse because of his life style.
What is a Curse?
A curse is a negative event! It is a spell that gives life negative meaning.
A curse is a force that moves individual to negative life.
Types of Curses:
1. Generational curses: A generational curse is a set of limitations, misfortune handed down from one generation to another. E.g Joshua place a curse on Jericho and it lasted for 300years (Josh.6:26)! One generation comes and go yet the curse remain.
Effects of generational Curses;
1.It fight each successive generation by limiting their growth and progress in life.
2.It speak failures on a generation where others are accepted they are turn down
4.It makes helper to turn their back on you
5. It produces failure at the edge of breakthrough
6.It makes for near success syndrome
How it is created?
It is usually created by the spoken word by entering into covenant with the devil and building of altars.
What is the way out?
1. You must be born again
2. .Engage in prayer ministry by placing demand on the blessing
3.Engage the ministry of a priest/prophet
*Hosea 12: 13. And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.
I don’t know what generational curses operate in your life and family, I have a good news for you that there is a way out of that curse that has stagnated the entire family.
2. Self inflicted curse: It is often arise as a result of what one does to himself. E.g the act of murder. No man was given the right to take the life of another person. So when we commit murder we activate a curse.
Effects of curses
I. It bring an atmosphere of rejection and badluck : One major effect of a curses is that it places something on you that people see but you may not see yet it determined the response of people to your life. How people accept you or reject you depends on what is on your life! A blessing (acceptance) or a curse (rejection).
The Bible said:
Genesis 4: 14. Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; *and it shall come to pass , that every one that findeth me shall slay me* .
Most believers don’t want to hear the idea of a curse where as their life is operating under a curse. Whether we believe it or not curse can come from God, it can also come from men or self inflicted!
For example:
When you shed innocent blood like Cain, you activate a law that will make any one that see you wanting to kill you.
II. It closes the door fruitfulness: Fruitfulness in this case is not all about fruit of the womb but affects the works of your hands. You wonder why you labour like elephant and eat like ant.
Beloved, you may not have killed with a gun or matchet yet you murder people a lot in your heart by your level of bitterness! Perhaps poisoning someone to death is your own method of killing people, God is watching! Or your case is to hire assassin to kill your fellow brother because of one reason or the other! Or your case is baby factory!
Now are days it is selling of human parts ! It could also be abortion of babies from the womb that is your own case! Both the one that did the abortion and the one that gave the money for it suffers thesame fate!
Whatever be the case as far as blood is shed you have activate a law that will bring a curse on you because God hate murder under any guise!
Every curse operate base on spiritual laws that has been activated.
From our anchor scripture, the blessing and curses are predicated on certain condition. So if you need the blessing, the buttons are there press it! And if you need the curse the button is also there.
Remember this: Heaven is real and hell is real. The decision to spend eternity is best made now, give your heart to Jesus today.
Prayer points:
– Father thank you for your word to me today.
– Father, I receive the grace not to activate curses upon my life in the name of Jesus.
Prophetic Declaration :
– I prophesy that generational curse over your life is broken right now in the name of Jesus
– Every curse that is turning your advantage into your disadvantage is lifted now
– Every curse that is stopping you from getting married is broken now in the mighty name of Jesus
