TOPIC: THE PHYSICAL BENEFITS OF FASTING AND PRAYER
Scripture: Isaiah 58: 8. Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.
Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! Yesterday, we started sharing the spiritual benefits of fasting and prayer.
We did established that Jesus said when you fast meaning fasting is a must as long as man exist here on earth. It is not a once for all thing but a continuous exercise. Today we shall be considering the physical benefits of fasting and prayer.
What are the physical benefits of fasting and prayer?
1. Un-abated strength; One of the benefit of fasting is vitality! The Bible made us to understand that Moses fasted for 40days twice (Exo.34:28) and the latter end of the story of Moses was that his physical strength never diminished:
Deuteronomy 34: 7. And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.
Moses could still see clearly at the point of dying. Imagine a man of 120years old not having having eyes defect! He can still climbed mountain and trekked miles! This can only be the miracle of God.
2. Health breaking forth; According to our anchor scripture:

The above scripture is a product of verse 6, Isaiah 58. When we do God’s preferred fast, then our health will break forth! This implies that there’s connection between your health and your fasting life.
The people in the medical field knows about this, hence they often advice some of their Patient to undergo some fasting to get rid of certain ailments. From research the following are what the expert said concerning fasting;
A. It increases blood flow; there is rapid flow of blood around the body during fasting.
B. It aids digestion :fasting gives your digestive system a rest, and this can energies your metabolism to burn calories more efficiently, promote healthy bowel function and detoxify the system.
C. It provokes peace of mind. You enjoy peace of mind as you engage in fasting.
D. It heals obesity and diabetes: Fasting can be a safe way to lose weight as many studies have shown that after periods of fasting, insulin becomes more effective in telling cells to take up glucose from blood. Hence you loose weight and treat diabetes at the same time.
All of the above according to experts are in line with the word of God that says:

3. It breaks addiction such as masturbation, smoking, sexual promiscuity etc. Expert says habit are formed after consistent 21days practice of a particular habit. Hence to break any bad habit a consistent fasting of 21days will do, especially smoking and masturbation
4. Besides, other profits mentioned so far, the Bible said:
Isaiah 58: 8. …the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.
The word ‘rereward’ means rear guard! This implies that as you are going ahead the glory of God is behind you as a shield protecting you.
Beloved, the glory of God has protective advantage and we activate glory by engaging in fasting and prayers.
Counsel :
1. Please note that fasting alone without prayer and the study of the word of God is risky. So your fasting must be word base combined with prayer.
2. Don’t place your faith on fasting, rather place it on God that answers prayer.
3. If you miss it during fasting, don’t condemn yourself, ask for the mercy of God and His strength.
Remember this : Heaven is real and hell is real. The decision to spend eternity with God is best made now. Give your heart to Jesus today.

– I prophesy healing to every sick person in the name of Jesus.
– What ever you have lost due to ill-health is hereby restore supernaturally in the name of Jesus.
