Introduction:

We are redeemed for next levels of experience in the kingdom – Pro. 4:18 / Isa. 43:18-19

Prov 4:18

18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

Isa 43:18-19

18 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

But thanksgiving is a vital key to our next levels in life – Psa. 67:5-7/ Psa. 92:1-2/12

Ps 67:5-7

5 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. 6 Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. 7 God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.

Ps 92:1-2

It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: 2 To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,

Ps 92:12

12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

Our Exhortation line for the week is titled; ‘Thanksgiving, Gateway to our Next Levels of Blessings’ – Luk. 17:17-19

Luke 17:17-19

17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? 18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. 19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

Thanksgiving, Gateway to our Next Levels of Blessings

We do not only thank God for what has happened, but we thank God to make things happen – 1 Thess. 5:18 / Heb. 10:36

1 Thess 5:18

18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Heb 10:36

36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

Thanksgiving is gateway to our next levels of command of the supernatural – Jhn. 2:5-11/ Jhn 6:6-12

John 2:5-11

5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. 6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. 7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. 8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. 9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, 10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. 11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

Job 6:6-12

6 Can that which is unsavoury be eaten without salt? or is there any taste in the white of an egg? 7 The things that my soul refused to touch are as my sorrowful meat. 8 Oh that I might have my request; and that God would grant me the thing that I long for! 9 Even that it would please God to destroy me; that he would let loose his hand, and cut me off! 10 Then should I yet have comfort; yea, I would harden myself in sorrow: let him not spare; for I have not concealed the words of the Holy One. 11 What is my strength, that I should hope? and what is mine end, that I should prolong my life? 12 Is my strength the strength of stones? or is my flesh of brass?

Thanksgiving, Gateway to our Next Levels of Blessings

Thanksgiving is gateway to our next levels of breakthroughs – Jer. 30:19-21 / Jhn 11:40-44

Jer 30:19-21

19 And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small. 20 Their children also shall be as aforetime, and their congregation shall be established before me, and I will punish all that oppress them. 21 And their nobles shall be of themselves, and their governor shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me: for who is this that engaged his heart to approach unto me? saith the LORD.

John 11:40-44

40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? 41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. 42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. 43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. 44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

When we disregard the hand of God, we suffer devastation – Psa. 28:5 / Act. 12:21-23

5 Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.

Acts 12:21-23

21 And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them. 22 And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man. 23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

God will not do the next, until we acknowledge Him for the last – Luk. 17:17-19 / Luk. 8:48

48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.

When we respond, on time in thanksgiving for His wondrous works, God in turn preserves our blessings – Mal. 2:1-3

Mal 2:1-3

1 And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you. 2 If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart. 3 Behold, I will corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your solemn feasts; and one shall take you away with it.

Thanksgiving is gateway to our next levels of victory – Psa. 35:1/ 2 Sam. 5:18-20/25-26

Ps 35:1

Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.

2 Sam 5:18-20

18 The Philistines also came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim. 19 And David inquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand. 20 And David came to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there, and said, The LORD hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim.

2 Sam 5:22-25

22 And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim. 23 And when David inquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees. 24 And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines. 25 And David did so, as the LORD had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gazer.

When our thanksgiving goes to God from a true heart, then we have committed Him to confirm our next levels of blessings – 2 Chr. 16:9/ Jer. 30:19/21

2 Chron 16:9

9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

Jer 30:19

God is ever at work in our favour and that is why things keep working – Jhn. 14:10/
Phil. 2:13

John 14:10

10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

Phil 2:13

13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Nothing goes down in the life of a fruitful and tireless thanksgiver – Psa. 92:1-2/10-15/
2 Cor. 2:14.

Ps 92:10-15

10 But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil. 11 Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me. 12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. 13 Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. 14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing; 15 To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

2 Cor 2:14

14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

Thanksgiving, Gateway to our Next Levels of Blessings

Thanksgiving is gateway to next levels of anointing – Psa. 92:1-2, 10-11 / Isa. 10:27

Ps 92:1-2

It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: 2 To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,

Ps 92:10-11

Isa 10:27

27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

God views our not being thankful as pride and the cost can be unbearable – Jer. 13:15-17 / Pro. 16:18

Jer 13:15-17

15 Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the LORD hath spoken. 16 Give glory to the LORD your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness. 17 But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the LORD’s flock is carried away captive.

Prov 16:18

18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Jesus is Lord!
