DAY 17 (Friday, February 17th, 2023)
Text: Malachi 3: 10
Theme: TITHE TO AVOID TIGHTNESS
Memory verse: “Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. 9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.” (Malachi 3:8-9).
Anyone who does not pay tithe has robbed God. Such person is a spiritual armed robber. This might be difficult to fathom, but that is the truth. Tithe is one-tenth of total earnings, incomes and emoluments payable weekly or monthly as the case may be. In the olden days, people used cash crops to pay their tithes. But in these days of money economy, people pay various sums of money as tithes depending on their incomes. It is God’s instruction that believers pay their tithes in order to attract God’s immeasurable blessings upon their lives. And those who refuse to pay for one reason or the other, are deemed to have robbed God. The implication of not paying tithe is that the culprit shall experience dryness, leanness, stagnation, closed doors, embargoes and scarcity. No wonder, today, many people are experiencing dry spells in their jobs and careers for the simple reason that they have refused to pay their tithes.
God is urging you today to prove Him by paying your tithes. He has promised to open the windows of heaven, and pour abundant and fabulous blessing such that you won’t even have enough room to contain them. In addition, He has also promised to rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so that he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field. Unfortunately, many supposed social media analysts and armchair critics have joined the debate against tithe paying and hindered people from paying their tithes. The result is that they have become tight financially, materially and otherwise. Many people who do not pay their tithes operate tight budgets because they pay to armed robbers, sicknesses and diseases and lose money.
As a believer in Christ, you need to begin to consider the gains of tithe paying and take advantage of it. Take advantage of God’s offer to open for you the windows of heaven and rebuke the devourer for your sake. With this, it is understandable that tithe paying is like an insurance cover against poverty, stagnation, limitation, and embargo and near-success syndrome. By paying your tithes, you are paving the way for God’s fabulous blessings upon your harvests.
Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:
1. O God, give me the enabling grace to pay my tithes regularly, in Jesus name.
2. Any evil voice ministering to me not to pay my tithe, be silent, in Jesus name.
3. Any public opinion that has swayed my heart against tithe paying, be uprooted by the Holy Ghost fire, in Jesus name
4. O God, make a hedge of fire around our G. O and Mommy in the Lord’s harvests, in Jesus name.
5. Every demon of hunger and starvation assigned to invade our nation ahead of 2023 elections to cause war and anger, be destroyed by the Holy Ghost fire, in Jesus name.
