TOPIC: OUR REDEMPTION CAME BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS
Scripture: Ephesians 1: 7. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! Yesterday, we could established the fact that the blood of Jesus is God’s instruments of achieving redemption! Today, we shall be considering the mystery, the enigma of the blood of Jesus that bought us redemption.
From our anchor scripture (Eph.1:7), Our redemption came because the blood of Jesus was shed! Now it will interest you to know that the blood of Jesus was not only shed on the cross but also in heavenly Tabernacle;
*Hebrews 9: 12. Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.*
Jesus blood was shed on the cross and in heavenly Tabernacle.
In Leviticus 17: 11, The Bible made us to understand that the life of the flesh is in the blood! So, when the blood of Jesus was poured out both on the cross and heavenly Tabernacle it appease heavenly court. The mystery of the blood therefore is that it satisfied God’s Justice as the only penalty for our sin(Rom.3:25)!
Things to note about the shed blood are:
1. Institutions of a New covenant: It was the blood of Jesus that established a new covenant which is also known as born again covenant! It was a more superior blood than that of animals. Just before the actual shedding of the blood on the cross, Jesus introduced the new covenant at the communion table:.
*Matthew 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins* .
Therefore, the communion is a reminder of the blood of Jesus Christ that sealed or ratified the new covenant! Whenever you hold that communion cup please be reminded of the price of the sacrifice that was paid for you on the cross of Calvary.
2. The blood of Jesus is what purge your conscience:
Hebrews 9:14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!
( NIV).
Every man that is not born again have consciences that are dead! It is at the point of surrender to the Lordship of Jesus that the blood of Jesus will now purge such a person! This explain why some person can kill with impunity and it wouldn’t even touch them! Such person is happy when you are in pains or sorrowful! You might be tempted to asked “don’t you have conscience?’ Frankly speaking there are people living with a dead conscience. However, anyone born of God have a tender living conscience!
There are three kinds of conscience which should not be part of a born again child of God, their presence makes your salvation a questionable one. They are :
A. Evil conscience (Heb 10:22): an evil conscience is one that substitutes that which is wrong for that which is right(Isa.5:20).
What are the evidences of an Evil Conscience?
I. Playing with sin, and not taking sin seriously.
II. Shallow confession and shallow repentance which is really just excuses for their sin.
III. Measuring sin…someone might say, “Well, my sin is not that!”
IV. Arguing with the Truth. Some even misuse the Bible to support their sin!
B. Dead or seared conscience (1Tim.4:2):A dead conscience is an insensitive conscience! As a result of continued sin, a defiled conscience becomes “seared” and insensitive to sin
C. Defiled conscience (Titus 1:15): A defiled conscience is a soiled or contaminated conscience.
However, the blood of Jesus purge your conscience from all dead works.
Remember this: Heaven is real and hell is real. The path to hell is rejecting Jesus and his sacrificial work on the cross. Give your heart to Jesus today.
Prayer points:
– Father thank you for your word to me today.
– Father I receive the purging and cleansing of my conscience by the blood of Jesus.
Prophetic Declaration:
– I prophesy upon your life, every voice speaking against you, be silent now by the blood of Jesus.
– May every dead conscience be purge by the blood of Jesus.
Assignment : Do all you can to have a tender living conscience by ensuring, your conscience is purge by the blood of Jesus.
