TOPIC: INTRODUCTION TO THE HOLY SPIRIT OF REST
Scripture: Genesis 8: 1. And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged;
Beloved, I welcome you to the second half of 2023. We give thanks and praise to God Almighty for the blessing released upon us all through the month of June. We trust God that your testimonies will start rolling in very soon.
We understand from scriptures that God’s desire for every believer is rest round about(Exo.33:13, Matt.11:28). Hence at creation He set the pace by resting from creative activities;
Genesis 2: 2. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
Therefore, God desires for His people is rest:
Hebrews 4: 9. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
Why does God desire rest for His people?
A. Because rest is good(Gen.49:14)
B. Because that is the only way to progress; when there is no rest, there is no impact, no development, no meaningful progress.(2Chro.15:5-15)
However, rest don’t just happened, there is a Spirit that sponsor rest. At creation this Spirit was present to organize the disarray earth;
Genesis 1: 2. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Similarly, in the days of Noah, the earth was flooded with water and again the Spirit that sponsor rest moves again! The Bible said:
Genesis 8: 1. And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged;
Observed that as soon as the wind was made to pass over the water, it began to dry off. And this continued to the seventh month, and by the seventh month the Bible said and the ark rested:
Genesis 8: 4. And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.
It could have been any other month. But God chose the seventh month for the ark to rest. That is why I’m glad to announce to someone in this seventh month your life will certainly experience rest by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Beloved, it was the ark that accommodated Noah that came to rest and Noah rested. Similarly, your ark could be the situation you are in right now, tossing you left and right. And because your ark is not resting, you cannot do any meaningful thing for yourself.
Perhaps, just like Noah was locked up, you are tied down on a spot buffeted by all forms of troubles and allegations! I have good news for you, this month the Lord will cause you to rest from trouble and all the wrong allegations leveled against you. Jehovah will vindicate you. Until the ark rested Noah did not rest. God will make your ark to rest this month in the name of Jesus.
When Jesus was leaving the apostles he assured them of this same Spirit (Lk.24:39). And on the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came down like a rushing mighty wind and the Bible said:
Acts 2: 4. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of rest that sponsor all forms of rest spiritual rest, psychological rest, financial rest etc join me as we look upon the Monarch of the universe to beam His light on us on this subject,
THE HOLY SPIRIT THAT GUARANTEES REST all through the month of July on this platform, Moment of Daily Encounter! And I trust God will bless you richly as you come along with us in Jesus name.
Remember this; Heaven is real and hell is real. No one will escape the judgement of God after rejecting Jesus here on earth.
Prayer points:
– Father thank you for your word to me today.
– Lord I pray you bring me into your rest in the name of Jesus.
Prophetic Declaration;
– I prophesy in this seventh month your life is excused from calamity and disaster in the name of Jesus.
– Just like God made Noah’s ark to rest, so shall you and all yours be brought into rest in the name of Jesus Christ.
Assignment: Pray that the Holy Spirit will bring His presence that guarantees rest all through this month.
