As we journey along in this new year, with high expectations of goodness; the following tips will help couples in ensuring PEACE & LOVE are felt in their homes:
1. LOVE YOUR SPOUSE GENUINELY
As couples you must remember that love is at the centre of what you share. Many issues couples face can be solved if they allow the love they share to take the lead.
Love will help you make Sacrifices without flinching. It will give you the capacity to forgive when your partner wrongs you.
2. HAVE FUN TOGETHER
Spend time with your partner. Create room for freedom of expression between you two.
The home should be a place of relaxation and not a barrack. Give your partner the room to be expressive and display different aspects of his/her personalities.
3. FORGIVE EASILY & QUICKLY
Increase your capacity to forgive. Practice advance forgiveness because your partner is human and there will be moments of disagreements. Do not hold on to grudges and negative sentiments. Learn to let go of things.
4. EMBRACE YOUR JOURNEY
Do not compare your relationship to others. Yours is unique. Embrace and enjoy the journey the both of you have embarked on.
Take the good and bad times in good strides. Learn from your mistakes and make the entire journey with your partner memorable.
5. BE ATTENTIVE
Give attention to your partner’s emotions and sexual pleasures. Do not ignore the obvious and sometimes subtle signs they may give.
No request should be underrated or mocked. Be generous with your time, attention, and compliments.
6. BE TEACHABLE
Be willing to learn. Do not shy away from gaining knowledge that will help you make your marriage blissful.
7. LET GOD BE AT THE CENTRE
Believe in God, love and place your faith in him. His grace is needed to make your marriage successful.
8. OWN YOUR PEACE
Do not allow external issues affect the sanity of your marriage. Deliberately make efforts to ensure peace reigns in your marriage.
