KWARA STATE POLICE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE
OCTOBER 12, 2023
RE: GUNMEN IN POLICE UNIFORM ATTACK MAN, MADE AWAY MILLIONS OF NAIRA IN KWARA.
The above headline was prominent on some newspapers and social media platforms to the effect that one man was allegedly attacked by three hooded gun men in police uniform and an unspecified amount of money snatched.
The Kwara State Police command wishes to sympathize with the supposed victim over the unfortunate incident. Meanwhile, the command is using this medium to inform the public of her security arrangement which made it largely difficult for a citizen to be robbed in the city centre and in daytime without Police detection.
Up to the time of this statement neither the victim or anyone with an iota of information has released such to the Police. The intelligence arm of the command has started piecing together information that could lead to the victim so as to narrate the circumstances of the incident but regrettably, no information to date except those on newspapers and on social media.
The command wishes to reiterate the importance of reporting incidents to the police promptly for necessary action.
On this instant case, the commissioner of police, Kwara State, CP Victor Olaiya psc (+) has since directed a discreet investigation into the rumor and ensure that justice is done if it is confirmed to be true.
