My Relationship Journal

Sequel to last series on forgiveness, the following are some other key notes on forgiveness to make for a successful marriage:

1. CONTROL YOUR TONGUE WHEN ANGRY

Words uttered in anger usually hurt more and may cause irreparable damage. It is a sign of maturity when you do not let your emotions in the heat of the moment make you use hateful words on your partner.

2. BE CONSCIOUS OF YOUR PRESSURE MOMENTS

Everyone goes through seasons when things may not be rosy. These are defining moments that affect emotions and it is important that we are mindful of our reactions to our spouse at such times. It may come from unexpected bills or health issues or career setbacks and responsibilities. Learn to manage your emotions and reactions in times like this so you don’t unconsciously offend your spouse.

3. YOUR FORGIVENESS SHOULD HAVE NO LIMIT

Your ability to forgive your spouse should have no limit. Marriage is a lifetime commitment to forgive all offences and slights by your spouse.

4. DO NOT PROVOKE YOUR PARTNER

With marriage, you are armed with certain knowledge about your partner’s tipping point, insecurities and pressure buttons. Do not deliberately push their buttons or provoke them to anger. This knowledge should be used to protect them and not incite them.

5. MANAGE YOUR TRIGGERS

Understand yourself and your triggers and learn to manage them so you don’t lose control of your emotions.
Remember, forgiveness is one of the key pillars in a successful marriage.

Forgiveness is therefore a virtue that most be practised in every home and should never be undermined as it plays a major role for success in marriage.

Remember, forgiveness is one of the key pillars in a successful marriage…

My goal is to help you achieve marital success & sexual fulfilment in marriage.

Blessings Always!
