What is the role of a Father’s blessing in Divine Repositioning?
Genesis 49:8-10. The Bible made it abundantly clear that when you are the first born in a family, you qualify for special divine favour. Genesis 48:8-20.
When Joseph brought his 2 sons to his father, he placed the older one where the right hand of the Father will land and the younger one where the left hand of the Father will land because the first born must receive the double portion of blessing and the double portion of blessing comes with the right hand. I have always said it, we may not know the full reason why but anytime someone with the authority to bless you is about to bless and you’re more than one, place your head where the right hand will land, get the double portion blessing first then we can begin to find out the Theology later.
Then his father directed by the Holy Spirit crossed his hand and he placed his right hand on the head of the younger and the left hand on the head of the older. Joseph said, Baba, you’re not seeing very well. You’re doing the wrong thing.” Baba said, I know. I am going to place the last first and the first last – very serious situation.
When you go through the Scriptures you find examples of great first borns. So those of you who are first borns of your family, congratulations, you’re well positioned.
Samuel was first born, he became a great prophet. He became the Kingmaker of his tribe, he became a King remover of his tribe. Samuel – first born, mighty prophet.
If we can jump to the New Testament: John the Baptist was the first born. Matthew 11:11. The Lord Jesus Christ himself was the first born, born by a virgin that means the mother never had a child before him. So all of you who are first born, I decree in the name that is above every other name, you will be great. But what about those of us who are not first born?
I think that’s why tonight we need to have what we call a Father’s blessing because a father’s blessing can reposition you. That’s what happened to Judah. Judah was not the first born, Reuben was the first born. After Reuben came Simeon, then Levi. Judah was number 4. Then the day the Father was going to die he pronounced a blessing. He said, Judah, you’re the One that everybody will praise. He said, all the children of your mother they will come and bow down before you – that is serious.
gThe Father picked him up from number 4 and said, “hey, I make you number one.” Then he said, the sceptre, the ruling rod will never depart from Judah. If you’re a Bible scholar you will know that David came from the tribe of Judah and Jesus Christ came through David because God through a father pronounced a blessing on Judah. He ended up becoming the Great great great-grandfather of the King of Kings.
When you read Revelation 5:1-5 you discover that even in eternity, Judah is still highly recognized because Jesus Christ was called the Lion of the tribe of Judah. I am about to pronounce a blessing on you tonight so that it doesn’t matter what number you are in your family line, you will become number one.
I happened to be the last born of my mother and by the grace of God, you can look at me today. I have told some of you before that I am where I am today by the grace of God and the blessing that my mother constantly pronounced on me because I grew up with her. My dad was always in the farm.
Anytime I’ve done something that pleased my mother she will say, “you this boy, you will call one person, 200 people will answer you.” I will say, Amen, I didn’t know what does that mean, I didn’t know how that could ever happen.
But like I’ve always told you, if we are having a Ministers’ Conference and by the grace of God, all the Ministers in the Redeemed Christian Church of God now are hundreds of thousands. If I come into the meeting of the Ministers and I didn’t mention any name and I say, “Pastor, come.” How many people will be running? (All). Stand on your feet.
Prayer point:
Father, for the rest of my life, let me please you.
Let me please you so that my Father’s blessing will be effective in my life.
The Scripture teaches that when you want your father’s blessing you must do something that will please him. I have always told my children jokingly, “I will bless you on credit then you will go and prepare something and bring to your father something that will please him so that the blessing can then begin to work.”
Isaac said to Esau, “go and get me something that I will enjoy so that I may bless you. His son went, before he came, Jacob had brought something. The Father had eaten, had enjoyed it and have poured out the blessing. By the time Esau came back, he said I’ve blessed him and he will be blessed. I’m going to bless you tonight and I’m going to do it on credit then you will go and do something that will make the belly of your Father jump for joy. Lift your hands to the Almighty God:
I am pronouncing on all those who genuinely call me, “Daddy.”
– In the name that is above every other name, it shall be well with you!
– you will be first and not last!
– you will be head and not tail
– you will be above not beneath
– My God will bless you in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening, in the night time!
– Everything you touch shall be blessed
– When you go out, you shall be blessed
– when you come in, you shall be blessed
– Wherever you go, you will find favour with God, with men.
– Every door you knock at shall be opened unto you
– you will never fail, never fall. God will support you.
– He will reposition you for the better
– I will only hear good news concerning you!
– you will be the ruler of all your peers!
So shall it be!
– in the Kingdom of God you will not be missing in Jesus name I have blessed you!
