TOPIC; CARING FOR YOUR SOUL
Scripture: James 1: 21. Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls
Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! In continuation of our subject man’s composition! We did said that Man is a spirit that has a soul and lives in a body.
Today, we shall be looking at the soul components and how to care for it.
How important is the soul?
The soul is so important for the following reasons:
1. The soul is the determinant of your actions and inactions: The soul is the middle components between the spirit and the body. It takes information from the spirit in form of impulses to the body and the body takes action. So if the soul did not sends any signal or impulses from the spirit, the body will not act as there will be no information to act on.
2. The soul is the documentation officer of all the activities going on in the body, hence in eternity, the soul will present report back to God.
3. The soul is where you have the mind that makes decision and as we all know decision determine destination. You don’t wish yourself to be educated, rather you make decision to be educated!
4. It also has the will power that helps you to make choices. We make choices every day and our choices eventually make us into what we are today.
5. It is the center of imagination and vision!Vision is center of greatness. How far you could see, determine how far you will reach in life and destiny.
6. It is the center of thought! Quality thought, negative thought all proceeds from the mind. So if your mind is corrupt, your life will eventually corrupt.
7. The soul(mind) is also a center of memory which is the record of past and future.
You can see how important the soul is! Hence the need for proper care for the soul.
How then do we care for our soul?
1. By giving it salvation (James 1:21): The salvation of the soul is so vital. How to get that done is by recieving the engrafted word with an attitude of meekness.
James 1: 21. Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
Beloved, irrespective of our academic attainment without the saving of the soul, it is bound for hell.
2. Constant renewal of our minds(Rom.12:2): Next to salvation is constant renewal of the mind with the word of God.
Romans 12: 2. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Every mind that is unrenewed turns out to be a carnal Christian, such persons is susceptible to be a tool in the hands of the devil.
3. Engaging the mind in meditation has a way of keeping the mind healthy(Josh.1:8). There are those who engage in worries, with the same energy you burn when you worried deploy same to mediate upon the word of God
1 Timothy 4: 15. Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
4. Keep bitterness and malice away from you:
Ephesians 4: 31. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
5. Constantly engage in brain exercise to solve problems(Heb.5:14).When the brain is not utilize the brain cells begin to die.
6. Let nothing tamper with your joy(Neh.8:10). Don’t allow other people actions to determine your joy.
7. Ensure what you are feeding your mind with is right information! If there’s any where the devil had cheated mankind is the areas of feeding them with the wrong information.
Your life can get damage when you feed it with wrong information. Wrong information leads to wrong decisions and actions. Many believers have suffered set back in their faith because of lack of right word that can birth faith.
Some uphold what they were taught as truth after many years only to discover they have believe in a lie!
And to unlearned the lies become very difficult and form a stronghold in their minds. It is better not to believe anything than to believe a lies! For the Bible said:
Proverbs 4: 23. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
Remember this: Heaven is real and hell is real. Those that reject Jesus and his atoning work will regrets it in hell. So give Jesus your heart today.

– Lord I receive grace to take care of my soul in Jesus name.

– I prophesy progress to every one under the sound of my voice in the name of Jesus.
– You never suffered setback anymore. May the Lord decorate and beautify you in the name of Jesus.
