TOPIC : THE NATURE OF LIGHT WE ARE DEALING WITH IS SPIRITUAL
Scripture :Genesis 1: 3. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! The Bible present to us two categories of lights! Today we shall be zooming our emphasis on one because that seems to explain our theme of the month.
What are the two Categories of light the Bible talk about?
1. Physical/ natural light (Gen.1:6)! This includes sunlight , moonlight and stars as well as many are man made light such as electric bulbs, lantern, Torchlight etc ! We all need this light to navigate our physical world.
2. Spiritual light (Gen.1:3): This is the first light that God created before creating the physical light.
From our anchor scripture we discovered God said let there be light! At this point the earth was under judgement, hence darkness was hovering over the earth(Gen.1:2) until God created the spiritual light. This is the light the Bible said God commanded to shine:
2 Corinthians 4: 6. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
So God commanded light to shine at creation! And when it was time for us to be recreated in Christ Jesus, a time for our salvation, He also commanded the same light to shine in our hearts! Waoh!
Until this spiritual light shine, conviction for sin and the need of our saviour is difficult. But the moment this light shine, salvation is easy, transformation is easy, conforming to the life and character of Jesus Christ is easy.
Beloved, the reason why you may appear stagnated now is because this light has not shine. When it shine, progress is a must because the Bible said:
Isaiah 60: 1. Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
Observed closely, the clause “thy light is come”! That makes it personal! Until the day your own light comes that is when your shinning begins.
It is possible you have been going to church but it seems your life look like you are not born again and nothing positive is happening around your life. Check it out, it is possible the light of the glorious gospel has not shine.
The Bible said:
2 Corinthians 4: 4. In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
So, it is possible to attend fellowship yet blinded from the light that gives salvation. It is also possible to be saved but not transformed because the mind is blinded from the gospel that guarantees transformation.
Please note this points:
There are two kingdoms,
1. The kingdom of darkness. This is where sin, sickness, affliction, disease, failure reign.
(Colos 1: 13).
This is the kingdom for every one born into this world. The ruler of this kingdom is Satan and his cohorts -demons.
2. The kingdom of light. This speaks of the kingdom of God where righteousness reigns. In this kingdom, there is joy and peace :(Rom. 14: 17).
The King of this kingdom is Jesus Christ! It takes being born again to be transferred from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light.
Besides, we can see the two kingdom been represented as two world which are the seen (physical) world and the unseen (spiritual) worlds;
A. The physical world. This is where all humanity live and carry out their daily activities. To move around in this world, we need light and the nature of this light is physical e.g. the sunlight
B. The spiritual world. This is the realm that is unseen to the optical eyes. Our dominion in the physical world depends largely on our victory in the spiritual realm.
To operate in this realm of the spirit, you need light as well and the nature of the light is spiritual.
Just as you can’t go any where when it is dark physically even so, you go no where spiritually when this spiritual light is absent. Jesus speaking of himself said:
John 8: 12. ., I am the light of the world: ….
Jesus is saying He is the light, not physical light like the sunlight but spiritual. Hence the life of Jesus, His word and His ways represent light to the believers.
In summary, the nature of light we shall be talking about this month is *Spiritual Light!
We are focusing on spiritual light because it is the spiritual that controls the physical. If you can get spiritual light, then you can reign and rule in our physical world.
Remember this: Heaven is real and hell is real. The decision of where to spend eternity is paramount to every living soul. Give your heart to Christ today.
Prayer points :
– Father thank you for your word to me today.
– Jesus light of the world shine your light on every part of my life every day in Jesus name.
Prophetic Declaration:
– I prophesy the light of God will take over your soul this month in the name of Jesus.
– The miracle you have been expecting will come knocking on your door this month in the name of Jesus.
Assignment: Make a decision to permit the light of God shine into your soul.
