Let’s begin to round off. What kind of people are the people that end as kings?
5. They are people of excellence.
Excellence is the way of eminence and prominence. Excellence means giving every task of your life the very best you have got.
It means doing your work at the highest possible level. Giving the task of your life the very best you have got. Living life at its very best to see the best out of life.
You cannot say you’re going to be king in the Medical field when you’re a mediocre there. When you’re the kind of surgeon that did that surgery gave somebody a fickle fistula – no!
When you’re such a shabby tailor – you tailored 100 times, you forgot button holes. How many of you have seen tailors that are so annoying?
You want to rush to the Church, you’re wearing the cloth for the first time and you realize that the button does not have hole? The hand does not have cuff link? One shoulder is on the other side and it is hanging down like hanger and you want to be a king in the Fashion industry? No!
Somebody said he wants to sow me cloth. So he sowed me (laughs) the cloth and when I wore it, (demonstrates unfit dress). This guy has sown cloth for me, may be 7, 8 or how many times, it is hard to wear one and I don’t want to dampen his zeal.
You know what he did?
He now worsened the case – that so, the next one he wants to sow he needs money for material. I should release money to sponsor mediocrity? If you need welfare, let me know. I can assist you with money but not for suit. Don’t you see what I wear?
Don’t you see how I look? Or you want where I will offend you?
That is why there are so many Christians that are battling with mediocrity. Mediocrity will only keep you in obscurity. You must make up your mind that if you claim that you belong to God, do it better than those who don’t know God.
Whatever be your field, your realm, do it better than those who don’t know God so that God can be justified for placing you on top of them.
God did not just position Joseph over the magicians of Egypt, Joseph was better than them – true or false? God did not just position Daniel over the magicians and academicians or politicians, he didn’t do partiality and say, ‘even if you’re worse than them let me place you on top of them,’ – no, he was far better than them. David was far better than all the musicians – that was how he found his way to the Palace. God is a just God; he won’t do injustice.
Friends, excellence took Joseph, David, Daniel, even Solomon who was already a king. He was ‘kingest’ (king kinger kingest) when another royalty came and saw what Solomon did…(1 Kings 10:4-5). When we dedicated the Glory Dome newly, they brought one woman from the village, real typical village.
As soon as they entered here, she asked the daughter to pinch her – “are we alive? We are still on Earth? Tell me that I have not died.” That was what she felt because of where she was coming from.
The Queen of Sheba fainted. Royalty is known for excellence. If you go to a presidential palace, everything is exquisite – the colour, paintings, movement, soldier, military and all of that, everything is detailed.
Now, this woman was seeing more details than any detail she has ever seen. So she was enumerating it one by one – see their uniform, the way they’re walking, the sacrifices, the cup bearers. She just lost it.
No wonder he was the King of other kings. He exceeded the Kings of the Earth.
– Pastor, Ministers, Business men, go from here with the Spirit of excellence! Do everything you can to make the King of kings and the Lord of lords proud to call you his own!
Let me tell you: excellence is going to cost you but it pays more than its cost – don’t forget! To do things anyhow doesn’t cost much but to do things excellently is costly but it is going to pay you more than it cost you.
The price of the rug we put on the ground at the opening of the Glory Dome will be able to build 2 Churches.
The price they cost us per square metre of the floor. The price of the perimeter beam, that is, the steel that the roof is sitting on, not the roof itself, can build 3 Churches.
That is what we paid – not the steel itself, what we paid for custom duty. Not the price of the thing, what to pay as duty to import can build 3 Churches – big ones.
Not everything o, only that perimeter beam, the one that you cannot see now – Ola Ola (fire fire). The price of excellence is less than the cost of mediocrity. What it will cost you to be a mediocre is higher than what you will pay to excel. So, pay the price. We don’t talk too much.
Somebody said to me, ‘you’re not talking, you’re not saying anything. Crusades are happening all over the world, offering is not taken at the Crusade ground, millions are being spent, you’re not saying anything. 99 per cent of the places we go, we went private that was paid for including America, UK.
You’re not saying anything and so many people that are doing nothing are making so much noise.’ I’m only saying some of these things now to… because if I say everything, some people’s brain will burst.
I heard that Mama Idahosa when Archbishop Idahosa came home one day and said he’s having the leading that they should give, is it 80 or 70 per cent of their income back to God, that that is the leading he got. She said, “really? Then why don’t you just ask God to kill us?” You want to give everything to God?
It’s better that God kills us then we know that we have given ourselves to God. There are things that the mind cannot fathom but I announce to you today, as you make up your mind to pay the price it will take to excel, I prophesy to you today, it’s a new day for you!
What does it take for a king to be made?
1. People with the royal heritage
2. People with vision and decision for royalty
3. People with a royal mentality
4. People with determination, resilience and a fighting spirit.
5. People of excellence
