TOPIC: HOW TO RECIEVE UNDERSTANDING
Scripture : Job 38: 36. Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the heart?
Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter!
Previously, We established that the other side of wisdom is understanding. We have also considered it’s importance! Today we shall be looking at how to receive Understanding.
How then does understanding come?
From our opening scripture(Job 38:36), we can observe the clause “who hath given understanding to the heart?”! it began with a rhetorical question! Now from this question, we can deduce that understanding is given! The Giver of understanding is God.
Although understanding could come from knowledge and experience, however, there are issues that you do not have the age and experience to gather knowledge about, yet you need to receive understanding of how it runs.
Then you know for sure, that it can only be God that will supply such understanding. God gives understanding by supernatural impartation, age or experience notwithstanding!
For example the men that built the Tabernacle that Moses received on the mountain were imparted by God with the spirit of understanding to be able to build it as if they were there when Moses received the pattern!
How then do we receive understanding?
1. We receive understanding by impartation: God imparts our hearts with the spirit of understanding as we walk in the fear of God by exercising restraint from sin(Job28:20-28). When you fear God by departing from evil then you are entitled to His understanding.
2. Through answers to sincere asking in prayer(1Kg.3:9):
As soon as Solomon was installed as king in the room of his father David, the number one thing he requested for was understanding heart:
1 Kings 3: 9. Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?
God was excited about such request (1Kg. 3:11) and gave him both wisdom and understanding (1Kg. 3:12)!
Beloved, you too can ask God for understanding in any area of your life that seems to be giving you a concern.
3. Through divine Inspiration we recieve understanding(Job 32:8): When we are inspired to do a thing, understanding for it is supplied by God.
Job 32: 8. But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.
All the beautiful inspirational works are made possible by God supplying the Spirit of understanding.
4. Through our response to the cry of understanding:
Proverbs 8: 1. Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?*
The voice of understanding is every where inviting those who are interested in her!
5. When we permit the word of God to enter us we receive understanding:.
Psalm 119: 130. The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.
So many are in the gathering of the Saints today but lack understanding of the way of God because the principal way adopted for gaining understanding is ignored.
You cannot ignore the word of God and gain understanding of God! And until the word enters into your life, there is no way you can understand God. So permit the word to enter because the devil being the thief is ever ready to steal that word from you if you don’t allow it to enter you:
Matthew 13: 19. When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
In conclusion, God is ready, God is willing to give you understanding, if you can do the needful.
Remember this : Heaven is real, hell is real! You cannot live for God on earth and be rejected a place in heaven! Whom are you living for now?
Prayer points:
– Father thank you for your word to me today,
– Lord, I receive grace to pursue the the Spirit of understanding in Jesus name.
Prophetic Declaration :
– I prophesy the release of an understanding heart upon your life in the name of Jesus.
– Your destiny shall not suffer a shipwreck because of bankruptcy of understanding
– Your destiny will not nosedive into the ocean of regret any more in the name of Jesus.
Today wisdom capsule 💊💊: Wisdom and understanding is given by God. Hence it must be recieved by those who desire her.
