TOPIC : EVIDENCE OF BEING FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT
Scripture : Acts 2: 4. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! The arrival of the personality of the Holy Spirit is not easily noticeable hence God gave us a sign to indicate His arrival. Today, our focus is looking at the visible signs of the arrival of the Holy Spirit.
Please note that the Holy Spirit is a gentle person, His arrival is announce with initial evidence of speaking in tongues!
However His departure is without any sign, this explains why some person who had once filled with the Holy Spirit could dabble into occultism and still assume the Holy Spirit is still with them whereas He has long left !
Holy Spirit will come when He is welcomed and well received and will depart when we can longer accommodate Him by our life styles.
Why speaking in tongues?
This is a great question many sincere persons have asked me again and again! Must every body speak in tongues? Yes!
1. The reason for speaking in tongues is to show you are filled with the Holy Spirit:
Acts 2: 4. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
If you are not speaking in tongues then you are not filled with the Holy Spirit. The evidence of being filled with the Holy Spirit is speaking in an unknown tongues that you didn’t learnt before;
You will notice from the above scripture that when the early church was filled with the Holy Spirit, they all began to speak in tongues while the Holy Spirit supplies the utterance.
Another sincere question is, “can’t I serve God without speaking in tongues?” Why not? You can serve God without speaking in tongues!
However, your service will be ineffective. Jesus mentored his disciples for three and half years, then he asked them to wait for the Holy Spirit before going out to render any service:
Luke 24: 49. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
Acts 1: 8. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
So, the empowerment ministry of the Holy Spirit is so vital for a successful christian life.
Therefore, every believer in Christ Jesus needs to be filled with the Holy Spirit and His arrival is announce with speaking in tongues. Otherwise, The Holy Spirit arrival into your life will not be notice by you and as such you will not be able to cooperate with Him!
When the Holy Spirit arrives, certainly, nobody around you can claim ignorance because His arrival herald with speaking in a language you didn’t learnt before. He turns you to another person altogether! He fires you up with audacity, boldness and restful confidence!
Please note that speaking in tongues has two kinds:
A. Divers kinds of tongues: This is speaking in tongues plus the interpretatuon in an assembly/church gathering.
B. Devotional kinds of tongues. This is speaking in tongues that is for private purpose not the general gathering /church gathering.
What are the benefits of speaking in tongues?
The following are benefits of speaking in tongues for a devotional/private life:
1. Speaking in tongue guarantees rest spiritually(Isa.28:11-12)! The Bible said with a stammering lips and another tongue will God make the weary to rest. This implies that speaking in tongues guarantees rest to your soul.
Beloved, are you weary, frustrated about life? Do your friends and loved ones forsake you or stab you in the heart?
I have a good news for you, the Holy Spirit is here for you to make you rest from your toiling and tiredness. All you have to do is cooperate with Him by receiving Him into your heart. And if you have already received the Holy Spirit then look for a quiet place and blast in tongues.
The speaking in tongues is not just a Pentecostal thing but your organ of interaction with the Spirit!
So as you speak in tongues for a long period of time you will begin to sense this calm atmosphere in your spirit and the Holy Spirit begins to witness to your spirit that issues of concern are settled, that matter that has given you sleepless nights is over!
You can go and rest over that your child issue that has become a concern to you. You can be rest assured that your marital issue is a done deal.
In whatever capacity you desire rest, just go ahead and speak in tongues for considerable period of time, you will certainly call me and testify.
Remember this: Heaven is real and hell is real! Where do you want to spend eternity? You have the answer already. Give your heart to Christ today.

– Father thank you for your word to me today
– Lord I receive rest and the grace that speaking in tongues brings into my life in the name of Jesus.
Prophetic Declaration:
– I prophesy rest to every weary soul, let your joy be full again in the name of Jesus.
– The God of perfection perfect all that concerns you now in the name of Jesus.
